About TiECon Canada

Disruptive Entrepreneurship

We are all aware of the power of disruptive technologies and business models. Small startups with limited resources are challenging industry leaders and leaving them with only one option - Innovate or Die. While disruptive models are threatening the incumbents, they are opening up endless possibilities for innovative entrepreneurs. In November 2016, Canadian entrepreneurs will gain an edge in the world of innovation and Disruptive Entrepreneurship. Join us for a day and half of immersion into the latest innovations and disruptive business models across multiple industries, delivered by the successful entrepreneurs and leading experts in the field.

What is TiECon Canada?

TiECon Canada is TiE's flagship conference for entrepreneurs, SMEs, industry veterans, investors, and other members of the Canadian business community. Organized in partnership with Canadian sister chapters in Toronto and Vancouver, and global TiE chapters in Silicon Valley and Boston, TiECon Canada is the largest event of its kind in the region. It features industry leaders, technology gurus and investors from different sectors and all spheres of business. It will build directly on the success of the past TiECon Canada conferences that we held in Ottawa in years 2013, 2014, and 2015, each of which assembled more than 300 participants, and featured more than 50 speakers, dozens of investors, and over 25 partners.

Why Attend TiECon Canada 2016?

TiECon Canada 2016 aims to help entrepreneurs - and their private and public partners - to appreciate and understand the power of Disruptive Entrepreneurship by providing:

  • Insights on new disruptive technologies and business models that are threatening to shake multi-billion dollar industries
  • Rare access to entrepreneurial leaders, angel investors, VCs and government funders, and opportunities to increase deal flow
  • The opportunity for start-ups to pitch for seed funding and business support
  • Inspiring speakers from our backyard and from around the world
  • Insights on emerging domestic and global innovations, business trends, and competitive intelligence
  • Opportunities to connect with mentors and find co-founders
  • Networking with potential clients, investors, and fellow enterpreneurs from Ottawa and around the globe
  • Why Become a TiECon Canada Partner?

Ottawa is historically recognized as a government town and Canadian high-tech centre. Like many ICT hubs around the world, Ottawa's booming technology sector suffered significant losses during the economic downturn. Following a challenging recovery, our resilient city is thriving once again as entrepreneurs launch new companies. TiECon Canada aims to fuel and accelerate this development. As a partner, you will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve this objective. TiECon Canada creates an opportunity to invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs and in our community.
